Our family has about 690 mineral acres in Howie Township(T-151-N, R-92- W). Is there a way to find out what oil co.s hold the leases in that area? I was in the area yesterday and noticed that there is a well being started in either section 9 or 10( I think I have this right) of Howie Township. Also there is a well going in straight north of this one in Osborne Township(T-152-N, R-92-W), maybe 3 or 4 miles away. So does this indicate a pattern or is it just a crap shoot of where they may drill next? This may be general knowledge for those of you experienced in the oil business, but I would like to know if there is certain corner of a section of land the oil co will more likely drill in. Also when there is more than one section of land invovled, how does one know in what direction that other section will be from the inital section where the well is drilled? I hope someone can make sense of this and respond. I've enjoyed reading this blog and all the expertice. I think I'm addicted to checking it daily. Thanks
