From: Lt Col. Louis d'Or, DG

To: Brigadier, le Duc Coward de Custaad, CO DG, HM
MoFM

My Lord Duc,

I am pleased to report that the Regimental Dinner was
well attended. Attendees included Major Von Braun,
his Lady, and Captain de Ocean. The festival were
closed with a demonstration of fencing by myself and
my usual fencing partner, Lt. Col. de Dragon of the
Queen's Own. I was awarded the palm on points, though
it was a close event. Enclosed you will find the
receipts for the affair, totaling 55 Crowns.

I am sad to report that it has been brought to my
attention that one of our officers has been engaging
in conduct that is reprehensible and unbecoming an
officer. I have taken it upon myself to speak to
Major le Chevalier d'Andrea and have urged that he
resign his commission for the good of the regiment.

I look forward to the regiment serving at the front
this spring. I feel that the squadron commanders are
all solid officers, but all, including myself, are
untested as commanders. Presuming Captain de Ocean is
advanced to Major, have you given any thought to a
regimental adjutant? Our current Captains are equally
qualified, my preference would be one of the silent,
senior Captains.

Given your vast experience, the regiment would benefit
from a month in the field with you in command, prior
to any operations as part of the brigade. This would
enhance the confidence of the squadron commanders.

                               Respectfully,
                               Louis d'Or
