They designed the Mesh Potatoes in a way that it runs off almost any type of powersource. you can take a battery out of a damaged car and it might run for a week or so. You need someone to set it up for you once, but after that you just plug in a normal telephone and you can dial. very good for old people. Of yource if you want internet you need more power for the computer/laptop alone.
