I'm just a user so I might not have the optimal setup, but some comments. The Win/Linux. I dualboot my laptop as well. I use different FD port for windows vs. linux and list two different clients in my director. This way there's no risk that my director mixes up who's who.
I also spool my data even though I backup to disk. Before I spooled my data a lot of disk space was wasted by incomplete partials backups that bareos can't make much use of. If you spool first the data is discarded when backup fails if it haven't been despooled.
