Just to give an update, sorry about the noise. I am figuring some of this stuff out now. As I build this thing, I am missing some key modules. I guess that is what the list of dependencies is for that you pointed me to. I am just used to having everything needed being there when I build something on Mac.
So far I've found I needed to add glib2, gettext. Will see if I can't figure out the rest with the page showing dependencies.
