I'm trying to write an article on syncing BlackBerry and Mepis Linux (based on Debian). I have been able to successfully back up BlackBerry os 5 and os 6 using Mepis 8.0 based on kde 3. But for the last part of the wiki article, I was suppose to get it to sync with Mepis 11, which is based on kde 4. I've installed the same files, except there is no kitchensync available in synaptic. I see there is a tarball, but I can't seem to get it to install (my fault, I'm pretty sure). But I'm really not sure that is the problem. I've downloaded Kontact, the kde-pim, and all the other files needed, but while it appears to sync (and says it does) through multisync-gui, none of the data shows up in Kontact. I've configured through akonadi the calendar and contacts and tried using a file in both .opensync and .kde/share/apps/korganizer but when I re-open Kontact, neither contacts nor calender have any data. I used the barry-sync plugin and have tried both the kde-desktop plugin and the file-sync plugin in, neither works. On the bright side, Barrybackup does appear to work! Perfectly. But has anyone had success using barry to sync a BlackBerry with Linux since kde 4 came out with akonadi? I read through all the posts on the mailing list since the start of the year, and haven't found a problem like "it appears to sync, says it did, and no data is showing up". Can you help? I would really like to put up directions for how to do this, but have hit a wall on Mepis 11 with kde 4. Respectfully, and thank you, Sheila
