Hi Sheila,

Thanks for your email, and thanks for writing an article on syncing
with Barry.

Syncing is, unfortunately, still a weak area. It's not just Barry,
but the OpenSync project in general. The developer momentum has
stalled somewhat.

There was a guy on the opensync mailing list working on the akonadi
plugin for the devel tree of opensync. It came close, but he ran
into some issues in the library that needed fixing, and nobody has
gotten back to him yet.

As for opensync 0.22, I don't think there is any KDE 4 support there.

How much time do you have to work on this? Does your article have a
deadline, or would it be possible to work together to help smoothe out
the rough edges over the next month or so? Are you able to compile
from source, if you get email support?

If this sounds good, I'm willing to take a shot at it, and see how
far we get with a developer + user. It would be great if you were able
to help me test the Barry Desktop GUI as well, and offer feedback on
that. That is a work in progress as well, but may be a good workaround
for the Blackberry if there is no KitchenSync on KDE 4.

Thanks,
- Chris
