Hi,

I had a look at the KUTE plugin, and it requires a full install of the tab2mage 
application. It also requires a make file to be executed for installation, 
which is awkward for Windows users. I don't think this is a good way of going 
about things -- a plugin should be just that, it should install into BASE by 
the default route and not require any third party packages. 

It's a shame that they have chosen this route as this will put people off 
(certainly non-Perl speakers like myself). I also agree with Jari that anything 
without accessible source code is a non-starter for this project, at the very 
least for maintenance reasons (my understanding is that KUTE was a PhD project, 
so it will probably not be getting maintained in the future).
