Dump this, unless you like having your bbdb expired between each article
you read.

Is there a variant of `bbdb-after-read-db-hook' that is *not* called
from within `bbdb-records', so that you can call `bbdb-records' safely
from within functions on that hook? Somewhere like that would be a
perfect place to hang the expiry --- but the `bbdb-mode-hook' is
definitely not the perfect place :)
