Hi,
I have just committed a rewritten version of the
bbdb-format-record-* functions.
The "look&feel" of the different layouts and be configured
by the variables bbdb-display-layout-alist, which lists
options for the specific layout, e.g. field order, omited
fields, toggeling,... and the variables bbdb-display-layout
and bbdb-pop-up-display-layout specifying the default layout
resp. pop-up-layout.
The old variables bbdb-elided-display and
bbdb-pop-up-elided-display are obsolete now,
but still supported by a wrapper.
Some other variables & functions I introduce with the last
commit are gone and substituted by the above variables and
new functions (formating a record, toggling the
display-layout).
The Todo is:
- documentation in the info file
- user defined formating functions
- describe what to do in order to write own layout
- ...?
