It's that time again, for yet another version of the flexible expiry
package for overfull BBDB databases.
This is pretty much unchanged functionality-wise since the 1.4 release.
The release has had entire minutes of testing, but it's going to work
better with BBDB-2.34 than the last release did.
User-visible changes since bbdb-expire 1.4:
- Ported to BBDB-2.34 (BBDB-2.32 is still supported):
Fix the hiding of the `permanent' and `last-access' fields to work with
the new `bbdb-display-layout-alist', by updating that variable in a
ludicrously overdesigned manner (which still works, I think, maybe);
unlike BBDB's handling of the legacy `bbdb-elided-display' variable,
bbdb-expire should successfully merge its changes into your layout-alist
whenever it's practically possible to do so.
A special plea: if anyone's using this on GNU Emacs, could they please
tell me, so I can either fix the problems there or remove the caveat in
the documentation? I've not heard from any GNU Emacs users of this
package yet and I'm starting to wonder if there are any :)
