I have a potentially related problem. Not with Chinese names
but with names with special characters (German umlauts, French accents etc).

In case I read an email or a posting containing a name with
such a character, bbdb asks me wether I'd like to _add_ it
(not change) it as an AKA. Independent of whether I say
"yes, add" or "no, ignore", bbdb will ask me invariantly
the same question again, when I stumble across the next
email from the same person.
