It's so simple, I don't know why Bare Bones didn't think of it before.
Or, they could require you to register and provide your phone number.
Add a "phone home" feature to BBEdit that sends your IP address and
license key. If Bare Bones detects unusual activity with your
license, they give you a call.
How hard is that?
Piracy is a burden on Bare Bones, I understand that. Much like
shoplifting is for stores like Wal-Mart. But if I got frisked every
time I left a Wal-Mart, you can bet that I would not be shopping there.
