Yep, just double-checked. I have turned off everything related to
QuickTime I can find. Still stumped. =\
The simple answer is that .webloc files are resource-fork only files.
All of the information is in the resource fork.
you could do this from the terminal
cat somefile.webloc/..namedfork/rsrc | bbedit
but then...well, it's binary.
