I cannot live without resource forks. The main reason I never use BBEdit for HTML files is that I style them in Tex-Edit Plus with the styles saved in the resource fork so that I can upload them as text, thereby having my cake and eating it too.

I have to admit that you seem to have hit on something that's new to me. Can you describe in more detail what you're doing? Aside from WYSIWYG editing, I'm having a hard time imagining what sort of style you'd be missing in BBEdit versus another program.

I boldface start tags but not end tags.
I boldface and/or color SUBstrings to mark, for example, parts of a URL or img alt/width attributes which vary from page to page so they act as reminders to me.
I underline linked text.
I sometimes color entities or NCRs.
I sometimes make larger bold fonts for headings.

In short, styled text provides hide-saving and eye-saving development/maintenance aids without which I would be lost and irritable.

Of course I would also be lost without BBEdit; like I said, I just use them for different things.

BTW, Tex-Edit Plus now supports GREP search/replace. :-)
