At 10:13p -0700 10/12/2006, Ken Lanxner didst inscribe upon an
electronic papyrus:
Here's one more. :-) You can drag files from a filegroup to a desktop
or dock icon -- just as you would expect from Mac software. You can't
do that with Dreamweaver. If you use Transmit for FTP, you can drag a
file or files to its dock icon and it will automatically upload to the
correct remote servers and directories.
OK, this piqued my interest. How does it know the destination?
There is a preset mapping configured in advance that maps the
appropriate parent folder to the remote directory on the appropriate
server.
These are called Auto Uploads mappings in Interarchy - you can
actually have a mapping from one local folders to multiple different
remote server/folders so the dropped file will be uploaded to
multiple sites simultaneously.
Generally you set up both a matching pair of Mirror and Auto Upload,
so the mirror is used to sync the whole site, but you can drop a few
specific files to upload it as a test.
Enjoy,
Peter.
