I know I risk sounding like a broken record here, but the "new and
improved" BBEdit FTP browser is about to send me 'round the bend!
I have finally come to understand, albeit unwillingly, that the
browser will never work as it did before it was a browser (seamlessly
and beautifully).
But even a few smallish improvements would help immensely. For
instance, couldn't the "disconnect" and "connect" buttons be a
default choice that can be processed by hitting "enter?" Then when
the browser decides (by some internal rules that make absolutely no
sense to me) to disconnect me from the server with no notice, I could
at least just hit enter to be disconnected and reconnected, rather
than having to laboriously make that choice with the mouse each and
every time?
And while we're at it, could the browser just find some way to stay
connected to the server until I tell it to disconnect? Rather than
arbitrarily disconnecting at arbitrary intervals (sometimes within a
minute). If it could even stay connected for an hour at a time it
would be a great balm!
Sorry if this sounds petty and unreasonable. I've just been being
disconnected willy nilly too many times today to be calm and sensible.
Anybody who can respond to this? Anybody found a workaround?
