How would that look? Say you have some text selected and highlighted and then you'd want to to put BBEdit in a mode where you'd start selecting and dehighlighting the highlighted text? I'd get confused...

Maybe it's easier to cmd-c cmd-n cmd-v and then delete the lines from a copy of what you selected in the first place.
