Brief plug: we offer secure IMAP at BaseSpace.net also. Unfortunately, since hosting isn't our primary business, we don't have the volume to keep the costs down, so a basic web hosting account starts at $20/month. But with that you get shell access and a bit more freedom to do stuff than you might on your usual shared hosting system.
