Geeks write scripts, and avoid having to write a few chars on the
command line.

Our FC4/5 boxes are auto installed, auto updated, auto managed, all
using a customized kickstart installation with update servers that
include local configuration tweaks, local packages and  so on. We use a
kickstart + init script to maintain all our linux boxes, each pulling
in updates when available on the server. The push system that I had
been using for years doesn't work here because machines actually get
shut down at night.

I mirror FC2/3/4/5 updates + extras + jpackage + livna + a few things.
If anyone wants a local mirror, let me know. We don't have enough
bandwidth, but you can always carry it out on a USB/Firewire disk for
mirroring.

Debian works beautifully as well.

Yes, and it's a silly concept for low bandwidth regions of the world.
