pear and cherry slug

Does anyone have a natural cure for pear & cherry slug. I am thinking 
of a low toxicity spray like a garlic/chilli/soap/lime/bicarbonate 
soda or similar.
Yes, I know I shouldn't have to use such things but it has been a 
very unusually long and wet spring here.
