Provided that they are still fertile and would grow readily if sown. Ashing
is reversing or inverting fertility. The better the fertility the better the
the reversal. The same is true of the timeing. When I got to the Goetheanum
in 1967 they were burning the weed seed on the new moon and wondering why
the weeds grew better on the treated plots. I suggested that they try the
full moon. The only other plant that should be burned is a little bit of
root.
