Hi I have been trying to install SQL 2000 Reporting Services . The installation
goes fine until, the last stage where the all the services the installation had
stopped during the installation e.g IIS and SQL Server are getting started. It
is at this point it gives an error
*********************************************************** " Service
'ReportServer' (Report Server) Failed to start. Varify that you have suffecient
privilages to start sytem services"
*********************************************************** In the start of
installation it asks one of the for 3 type of authettication for starting SQL
services. i have tried all the three i.e Service Account, Domain Account ( with
User ID , Password, Domain), or SQL account ( User ID and Password). In case
of domain acount, since i am running the SQl server on a Test server, it
dosent have a domain so in the domain space i either give a '.', or the server
name itself. In case of SQL account , i gave the sa account and password.
I have been trying ach of these cases, but at the end of installation i get the
same error. Is it necessary that the server belongs to the any domain.? I
have checked in the SQL server ->properties-> Security-> Startup service
account and supplied the same credentials to the installation. But still the
same problem. Note: After the i cancel the error messege, and the
installation rolls back, in the SQL server i see 2 data bases creates
ReportServer and Report Server tmp I am in a great fix. Please Help Me. or
atleast guid me as to from whom i can get help Regards Suraj
