Hi,           Wrapping up BAL in CRUD facade doesn't look an attractive option. 
May be the same can be tried at DAL level. Let the BAL have business specific 
functions and UI communicate those. Don't try to impose patterns. That's when 
antipatterns show up. Interface based design is always preferable for 
flexibility, so you are right on that front. If you still want to go ahead with 
your design, you can consider Generics in .NET 2.0. That would give you a type 
safe rich design, with no performance overhead. All the best!!!   Life is so
