More precisely...have you configured and started your FTP server (pro-ftpd, wu-ftpd, vs-ftpd, or whatever your using). There is/can be a lot to configuring the ftp server depending on how secure you want it. There should be a lot of tutorials out there on this. Rob

I'm not much use on a graphics front end to these things,
but the old fashion way was to go in and
edit the file

/etc/xinetd.d/wu-ftpd

and flip the disabled value from yes to no.

Since if there is not 'ftpd' - the daemon - that
will serve up ftp services, there is no ftp login
event that will occur, since nothing is listening
on the port....
