You mean, Cracking don't you? Hacking and cracking are different things.
Take a look at the O'Reilly book _Practical Unix & Internet Security_.
It's a pretty good overview of network security and also covers some basic
encryption techniques and tools.
There are also chapters on cryptography in the O'Reilly book _Mastering
Algorithms with Perl_. This book is pretty heavy on the CompSci side and
is definitely not for beginning Perl programmers.
