I may just write a CGI interface and suggest study group people use that to post new threads to this mailing list.
The CGI interface would just add a subtle one line tag of small strings to the subject body of the email that gives list members power to control what comes into their email box via use of filters. When people respond, the email would still have the tags unless someone purposely deletes them so the CGI interface wouldn't be noticed by most people.
