% Hi All,

Hi!

%
% Is there a free version of Perl that I can get that will run on Win98 machine. I
want to start learning Perl. checked ActiveState but it looks like that is only a 15
or 30 day evaluation, I may be wrong?

Looks like you are, but it's worth chiming in that I'm quite happy with
the Cygwin toolkit, which provides perl and a whole lot more. I don't
know what any other perl requires (well, old nsPerl 5.004 didn't need any
extra DLLs, which was nice, and there may be a DJgpp version for 16bit as
well, but I don't *know*), but the cygwin tools all require a base cygwin
install to get the cygwin dll in place -- which, since I use other stuff
in the kit anyway, was no biggie for me.
