hi,
when u click at the link which i mentioned, you will find:
'search [Nucleotide] for [ ]'
when u'll paste a gi id e.g. gi|5104821|dbj|AP000061.1| in space after 'for',
a page will open where u will see highlighted accession id: AP000061.
On this page, is it possible that there will be more than one item in the returned list. If so, what heuristic do you use to determine which link to follow?
It doesn't look like they provide a convenient way to get this info off the web. There are people on the list that are much better at scraping web pages who could offer some suggestions here. Specifically, I'm curious what method Randall would suggest as I believe this is one of his areas of expertise.
Otherwise, I'll provide what help I can.
when u'll click at this, a default information page will open which contain gene and sometimes chromosome name for this sequence.in this case, many genes r displayed, n all are required.
there cases when even gene name is not available......
what i need is these genes n/or chromosome names if available if i supply a list of such gi ids' and get info in a list in the same order as that of gi ids.....
