Most technical mailing lists do it the right way. They might insert a
Mail-Followup-To: header field (but only if there isn't one already)
pointing to the list.

Mail clients should be able to handle reply-to-list (or "follow-up") as
well as reply-to-sender (or "reply-to-author").

Maybe somebody already wrote an extension for it. I couldn't find a
List-Reply extension for Thunderbird, but here are some other nice ones
