Yes you can trust Belenix with your data :) Some of us trust our work
data on Belenix. Our build servers are on Belenix, and our desktops at
home run on Belenix.

If you are going to do video editing work, then other platforms (such
as OSX) have better tools at the moment as compared to the opensolarie
ecosystem. This situation can change if we know what tools you'd like
to use and whether we can provide them on Belenix.

Based on private discussions, I know that Nexenta's repositories are
at present best for their server side stack. There are some different
assessments that the Belenix team has about Nexenta's usage of
upstream Ubuntu code "as is" - because in our experience with building
and providing packages, we have to patch software packages/apps to
make them run stably on Belenix.

Like Nexenta, the Belenix team too is moving toward having a free-tool
chain and we're having enough adventures getting there :) !

Which Nexenta package in particular are you interested in ?

1. Use Belenix for your storage, if you're comfortable with using
command line tools to create and share data
e.g. zfs set sharenfs=true datapool/someshare

Else, use Nexenta for storage. They have a web based GUI and are free upto 1 TB.

2. If you let us know which packages you'd like to see on Belenix, we
may be able to build and provide them for you.
