Ok tried to mount the zfs pool using the live cd but don't seem to be able to!
I attempted: zfs -O rpool/boot/grub and zfs -F rpool/boot/grub neither of which worked :-( I took my information from here: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-5461/gamns?a=view
