Eeek this post has become a mess :-( I don't know if a helpful moderator might be able to arrange all the posts in chronological order?? and remove the duplicates!
I'm so sorry for the mess!!!! In the mean time however I have managed to get Grub back into the MBR, not Solaris Grub but Linux in which I can look at loading BeleniX Grub into the PTR of fixing the original version later. To anybody who is trying to insanely dual-boot Solaris and Linux as I am follow my simple and yet ingenious howto I wrote back in 2008 :-D http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=27311 Is for Debian but I have actually just initiated the same procedure on KUbuntu v.9.04 with total 100% success. Ok what to do about Solaris now?? I need to basically mount the zfs pool on the live CD then recover Grub by hopefully removing the chainloader +1 part I added in so that Linux Grub will be master and chainload Solaris/BeleniX Grub.... HELP!
