Thats fine, All I really want to know, is there anything that I can do to getting it running..seeing that everything else installed fine. Although I am totally new to this unix thing, I am pretty got at following instructions :)
Also could you verify, that usbdump doesn't have the same problem, cause then I can atleast try go out a get a 1G or 512Mb stick and install it on that :) Its just that I tried your live cd, and that looks awesome, so I want to try it bit more, but running from cdrom does have its drawbacks :( Gurpreet On 7/19/07, Moinak Ghosh <Moinak.Ghosh at sun.com> wrote: > > Gurpreet Singh wrote: > > Hello, > > [...] > > > > I get this error: > > multiboot is longer used to boot the Solaris Operating System > > The Grub entry should be changed to: > > kernel$ /platform/i86/pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix > > module$ /platform/i86pc/$ISADIR/boot_archive > > See http://www.sun.com/msg/SUNOS-8000-AK for details. > > Press any key to reboot > > > > if I follow these instructions, and reboot and then edit grub lines to > > show exactly as specified, then I get an error > > > > Booting Command-list > > root (hd0,0,a) > > Filesystem type is ufs, partition type 0xbf > > kernel$ /platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix > > loading '/platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix'... > > cpu: 'GenuineIntel' family 15 model 2 step 9 > > amd64: CPU does NOT support long mode > > amd64: CPU does NOT support amd64 executables. > > module$ /platform/i86pc/$ISADIR/boot_archive > > loading '/platform/i86pc/$ISADIR/boot_archive' ... > > > > Error 20: Multiboot kernel must be loaded before modules > > > > Press any key to continue... > > > > when I press a key, it takes me back to grub menu. > [...] > > Unfortunately the hdinstaller is borked in 0.6.1.
