Talking about seeding random numbers from dates and network interfaces,
I happen to be looking at the Intel igb driver for a completely separate
reason today.

One of the parameters in the igb kernel module is:


parm:           entropy:Allow igb to populate the /dev/random entropy
pool (int)


I guess this isn't news to most people.
