Hi - I'm a new Berner owner, having recently had the good fortune of adding
a lovely little girl to my family. Tess is now 4 1/2 months old and is a
real treat to be around.    I'm learning a lot from my daily Berner-L fix;
very useful information!

I'm also very much a horse person - I have a beautiful Selle Francais mare
named Jewel and I ride primarily dressage. Despite the Ottawa winters, we
ride pretty much year round (with the help of an arena), although once it
hits -30C with the windchill, even the arena doesn't afford much protection.
I am no longer young and foolish, and on those days, I admit defeat and stay
home.

Just a comment - I started back riding after a 10 year break AFTER I got
married - husbands and horses aren't mutually exclusive. Just don't ever
let the husband see the board/vet/farrier/tack bills!

Gave up my English pleasure mare, Caprice, when I got married about a
zillion
years ago. I occasionally remind my husband that I'm still not quite sure
about that trade.  Ü
