Hi All! Wanted to ask if anyone has an opinion on the Heartguard medication. There are mosquitoes out in full force this summer and our vet would like to put 1 1/2 year old Ginger on Heartguard medication. I had read awhile back that there are side effects, and none of our other dogs have ever been on that medication. Any experiences or opinions?
Also, Ginger HAS been getting bitten by flies or ants or something that has made her INCREDIBLY itchy. She hardly slept last night from being so uncomfortable. (She is getting a soothing oatmeal bath tomorrow morning.....) The neighbor gives their dogs a Benadryl, just for relief due to some similar itchy skin conditions, and I was wondering if that is OK to do. Thanks again for the Berner L (I'm thankful everyday as I read through the posts and continue to learn so much about this wonderful breed and all the wonderful people that are "owned" by their Berners!!)
