That is a mastership of the art to discourage working group members to
comment on the list in respect to -bis documents.
The discouragement is for someone to take up the work. That said, be
kind to Nat who's volunteered to wrangle this text for the moment.
The rest of it is the stuff that makes me consider retirement.
Maybe in that spirit let's introduce the rule that if the diff between
original and -bis is less than 100 lines it should automatically go to
WGLC irrespective of what text is being changed or altered in the
original document or if those 100 lines are even needed ?
During the IDR chairs meeting today we did discuss whether we even
needed to go through "adoption" for much of this reason. It's within the
chairs' prerogative to summarily adopt the draft. However, it was
consensus to give the list a chance to comment on reasons to not take up
the work.
A likely outcome is there's no substantive reason to not adopt the
document, and most of our discussion during adoption will result in
something ready to head to WGLC soon thereafter. :-)
