Hi Rob - thanks for your response and the advice. With respect to my returns on the BCI indicator, I have only been paper testing for a week - so no real trends are emerging that I could say are definite.
In general though, I am a bit disappointed with BCI indicator as only 8/20 of the ASX20 stocks have preserved my $100k test capital over the week - if you shoot for 10% return per month, you are looking at probably 4-5% return on the good stocks in a week (to allow for some duds). I'm not sure if I am actually using BcI properly as I have been optimising daily and acting on the updated parameters. I think I will adopt also a fixed set of perameters as you and Rik have advised and test on these as well. With respect to my actual trades, I haven't been using any systmatic approach - a mix of speculative, buy and hold and high yield stocks. Whilst there have been some good speculative ones, the losers are well underwater (but fundamentals remain good) so the account is pretty sick. I'm dabbling in MACD, ADX, EMA's and Elder Force Index technicals (not on Best Charts though) to facilitate reasonably frequent trading in a self managed superannuation account. Reasonable results so far (17% annualised), but I am looking to boost these with something like Best Charts.
