Thanks for trying.
Unfortunately, that is excactly the Perl I downloaded. And after
installing it, when I try to double cick "UDAP_Shell.pl" the window
just closes. If I run it from within a command prompt, I get the error
message I showed earlier.
Do the folders need to be in some specific place for it to work?

Just tried picking up a controller today, in hope I could just get it
to work and then find out if I wanted to return it or keep it - turns
out the box I bought had already been opened and the battery was not
there :-( - how lucky am I?
