I've created the script Richard mentions. I had to wrap it in a .zip file so that the forum software could handle it.
Simply extract the .sh into the root directory of an SD card, put the SD card into the hidden slot in the battery compartment, and put the battery back in. The script deletes the file Richard mentions. I have tested the script and it seems to work, but I don't have a unit actually having the problem.
