The problem is that the current title, etc. is sent as inline metadata in the stream using a technique known as ICY-metadata. There is no specification for the character-set encoding for ICY-metadata but the general convention is ISO-8859-1. SbS tries to guess the encoding from the data, using 8859-1 as the preferred encoding. This means that, if the bytes of the metadata are valid as 8859-1 the that will be how it is interpreted.
BR B5 is using UTF-8 for the character-set encoding. Unfortunately, most European accented characters, such as ΓΌ, when encoded in UTF-8 result in a byte sequence that is also valid as 8859-1. Other players may guess differently. This 'differently' will work for some different set of circumstances.
