Right, actually the "network sound card" may be something I would like
myself, in order to be more confident for my own use when I have a
computer running.
Though I am not sure it would be such a bad idea to compete with
Apple.
People do not wanting to be tied to Apple is a big market.
If a Touch could be some sort of "Ipod", of high sound quality, able to
handle a big library by itself efficiently and reliably (after all Ipod
do that quite well), supporting external USB device (and also able to
be driven by another software through a plugin if you feel like it), it
could be great successful product.
An Ipod with docking station is not such a bad solution and should have
more competition.
