In my original message I said that I removed everything in the ~/.java
directory. The setting still shows up... I also removed all of the
configuration files for gnome/pulseaudio/etc...

I don't think it is a loading issue on the server, it runs several
other
players just fine...but since I can't test softsqueeze I can't know for
sure....
