@mherger Hi Michael - I got home today and downloaded the latest version of LMS 7.70-33442 with a view to checking the scanning logs for you. I was tempted just to keep using 7.70-33429 with the 7.6-3376 scanner-file and see how it went, but I wouldn't have been happy with that choice
To recap I upgraded recently ( a version or two or three before 7.7.0-33429) and that's when the BEX error first occurred. I did all the UAC and DEP disabling, ran virus checks. Uninstalled SBS and LMS using Revo uninstaller, cleaned the registry using CrapCleaner. Reinstalled LMS7.7.0 , tried older versions of LMS 7.70 all without success. My last attempt was last night when I installed 7.70-33429 and replaced its scanner file with the one form SBS 7.6 -3376 and things worked as I described in my earlier post. Well, I am pleased to let you know that I installed LMS 7.7.0-33249 this evening. Initially, I only pointed it to my music folder and the scanner scanned everything just fine. I then pointed it to also scan my video folder and again it scanned just fine. I ran a rescan and again it went fine..........and no BEX Error Code!!!!! It seems to scan much faster than previously I have no idea what happened or how it happened and only hope it doesn't happen again after I reboot my machine. I am also pleased to tell you (and AndyG) that my DLNA control points ( can not only see LMS but they can also browse) i look forward to testing it all out over the next few days.
