SATA disks connected to the motherboard. Local, not NAS or anything fancy. The windows box is the MASTER library. All new music is added there, tagged and processed by MIP. Clear & rescans are (usually) run overnight when needed. The performance of the Vortexbox has been an eye opener. I knew Windows was bloated but had not realised the performance hit that Windows suffers on long batch jobs.
