i will add that i do have a lot of composer tags on my files and would _not_ want them displayed by default in the "all artists" list. i think a pref to configure "all artists" is necessary, and it should make mandatory picking at least one, or any combo, of the following: artists, album artists, (my preferred two by default) composers, conductors, band, and whatever else someone may want, (with matches/dupes merged into one result).
Heh... what you want All Artists to be is basically what we have today. While many consider what we have today the same thing as the Album Artists...
Well, the current implementation then not is what you really wanted. But I plan to extend the Extended Browse Modes plugin to achieve what you want: hide certain menu items, add new custom ones. It's not there yet, but it's on my todo list.
i *also* desire to see optimizations under the hood, to make the usability experience better, as i think what JJ and Phil have advocated would result in a more responsive and logically intuitive system.
A lot has already happened. LMS 7.9 is much faster than 7.8. It just depends on what you are talking about specifically.
