The behavior you described can happen when a scan is running. LMS 7.9 would no longer wipe your currently playing playlist, but replace the entries for local files with "volatile" entries. Those are flagged as remote to prevent them from being stored in the database (which during the scan is being rebuilt anyway). Therefore you probably saw this after the update, as 7.9 automatically had triggered a rescan, but not afterwards.
