Last night my girlfriend and I played Carcassonne for the first time. I had played it several times before, but never with just 2 players. It's supposed to be best with 2 players and highly recommended on BGG. We even added the some expansions (the Mini Expansion and the Trader rules, but not the Builder). We also played that farmers were only worth 3 points per city, not 4.
Anyway, the game ended with us feeling kind of blah. I just didn't see the tension there. I guess there was come conflict there in that you could lay a tile in such a way that it'd be very hard for your opponent to complete what she was trying to build. But even that didn't seem to matter much. I think it was a little too light for us. Afterwards we agreed that the next time we play we won't score incomplete cities, roads, and cloisters, so that there's some risk involved and some opportunities to mess with your opponent even more. After playing Carcassonne, we went back to our old standby, the Mystery Rummy games, which we enjoyed much more. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "BGG Down" group.
