Guy Thanks for your responses, I was overwhelmed to see that people came out for discussion. There is a famous Quote about democracy that "In Democracy You get what you deserved".
Lot of people are saying BM is there to provide good candidate. If any of them has ever cleaned their street sewage channel I would be surprised. Being politician is not lolly-Pop. First at least be good Voter. Today almost 80% educated so called metro people don't go for vote. Very common excuse all politicians are same all parties are same. Parties or Netas divide us, further divide us and rule, be it any one. I am appealing to everyone who thinks his vote doesn't make difference. All I am saying that they have got that option. I seldom write any post but for this matter I cannot be quite. So spread this fact to every one, tell them to come out of their toilets and tell election commission that this country is full of bastards, because they are the only one who can understand dirt behind every vote. A common man who sells vote for drink, money or any benefit doesn't even know what he is doing. You cannot expect them to judge who is right. Next about providing right candidate. Now some definition of Right candidate. 1. for a drinker best candidate is who supply "signature" at least till voting. 2. for a student best party is that lower examination cutoff and open more seats. 3. for fundamental muslim best party is that could eliminate RSS bajarang dal etc. 4. for fundamental hindu best party is that eliminate all muslims and Christians. 5. for SC STs, the one who approves 40 % reservation in all kinds of job and education 6. for OBC the one who provide additional 40 % reservation in all kinds of job and education 7. for farmer the one who supply free electricity, free kerosene. if you talk to these people about nation's future they would probably say that they don't care. They want only their issues resolved whether good or bad. What do you think all these brilliant IAS officer don't think about contesting, they do. but they know that aam junta doesn't have enough bheja to understand the meaning of right and they cannot win. People don't even know the different significance between centre and state elections. There is no need to cry for act just do it, you don't need any political party or ngo. For any action you need life long dedication, second constant source of money and above all love to fellow countrymen. Some people can decide that they will do grass root work other would decide to earn for that work. Forget your families your regular life. You want big change, first raise your self. Our nation or society hasn't reached to a intellectual level to exercise true democracy. finally Valtayer said "Even if I don't agree to your thoughts still I respect you right to express." That can't happen atleast for now. So, what is the other choice? 49-O is the other option. Where is the question of giving option to voters for a good person? Is that there today? Yes, if people have a good choice, they will not opt for 49-O. But as of now, there is no choice at all. --- On Sun, 12/4/09, pushpendra sharma <pushp_4...@yahoo. com> wrote: From: pushpendra sharma <pushp_4...@yahoo. com> Subject: Re: [bm] Re: About coming Election very very Important To: bharatudaymission@ yahoogroups. com Date: Sunday, 12 April, 2009, 1:57 PM dear rohan my point oh view is very clear instead of givinfg that option give voters suitable candidates so that there will be no question of negative voting and we r her for the same goal giving voters suitable candidates. we together can bring the changes --- On Sun, 4/12/09, ROHAN DHARESH <rohandharesh@ yahoo.co. in> wrote: From: ROHAN DHARESH <rohandharesh@ yahoo.co. in> Subject: Re: [bm] Re: About coming Election very very Important To: bharatudaymission@ yahoogroups. com Date: Sunday, April 12, 2009, 1:45 PM Pushpendra, Your argument is wrong. Voting nobody is also a choice. Its no way defeating democracy because democracy is also a choice. 49-O helps in attracting non-voters to the booth, because all the while they give the excuse that all candidates are bad. Because all candidates are bad, many don't vote and their votes are cast by dummies. Voting nobody is also a choice, an informed choice. Its a healthy part of a democracy. Voting nobody does not amount to not voting. By voting nobody, you have made your stand very clear that none of the candidates are fit to rule. What better way of displaying your anger? More than anything else, it reflects on our sad condition that a nation of 1 billion plus, cannot find 543 good people! What do you achieve with this 49-O option? ________________________________ From: Manish Shrotriya <manish_shrotriya@ yahoo.co. in> To: bharatudaymission@ yahoogroups. com Sent: Friday, April 10, 2009 7:54:03 PM Subject: Re: [bm] Re: About coming Election very very Important Thanks Raj, I got this information from one of my friend who is presiding officer in next election and during his training this fact came to his knowledge and reached to me. And I am sure this is a great beginning as near 70% educated voter don't vote due to a common reason that they don;t find a suitable party or candidate. this is true too. today votes are casted in the name of caste, religion, cash prizes. Even very grass root level people brain wash uneducated people to cast their vote to certain party or candidate. I guess with in Bhumi resource full people should come together and file so many PILs after this and before next election that this option should become anonymous and should be available on EVMs. Regards Manish ________________________________ From: Raj <raj_raajesh@ yahoo.com> To: bharatudaymission@ yahoogroups. com Sent: Friday, 10 April, 2009 1:28:38 PM Subject: [bm] Re: About coming Election very very Important Hello Dear Yogi / Manish and all the the members ! Election Commission of India introduced an option of "Don't like any candidate? You can still vote" If you want to vote but don't wish to support any candidate of your area, you have a way out. Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961, has a provision that offers hope for such voters. As per Rule 49-O, when a valid voter decides not to cast his vote, but decides to record this fact, he or she can go the presiding officer and record this. Such a voter should go to the presiding officer, shall show a proof that he is a valid voter and will be allowed to record his vote. For such voters, the Electronic Voting Machine has to be switched off and the said voter's vote will be recorded as 'nil'. According to sources in the ECI, such votes can be counted as well. Such a voter has to enter this fact in a specially-designed Form-17-A and the voter's signature or thumb impression will be taken. Such voters' finger will be marked by indelible ink as well. But, in 2004, when the ECI had suggested many electoral reforms, there was a suggestion that there should be a provision if any voter does not find any of the contesting candidates suitable. In fact, the problem with the 49-O is that the identity of such voter is revealed since his details are maintained separately. Therefore, the ECI, while appearing in the Supreme Court a few years back on a Public Interest Litigation, had suggested that such an option should be made on the EVMs that any voter who does not want to vote for any contestant can record its negative vote without disclosing identity.
